it’s nice but make a plan for it. do you want it to get bigger and develop an interesting trunk? then you should put it in a larger container like a gallon or 2 nursery pot. your tree will not grow quickly at all in a bonsai pot. also mind your substrate, that nursery soil retains a lot more water than bonsai soil does, which can be dangerous for any tree, and olives can handle getting pretty dry

Olea’s are very easy trees because they grow very slowly. A lot of patience is therefore required with this tree, and it is not quickly recommended for beginners, as beginners often want things too quickly. The tree tolerates quite well, provided you handle it carefully.

I just found some olives at a hardware store here lol. I did some major root work on it and repotted it into a wooden box I made with a screen at the bottom (sort of like a homemade anderson flat). Put in some good soil too. Despite the heavy root work (i must have removed about half of its roots), it’s still pushing new growth!

(Wooden planks on top are to stabilize and weigh doen the tree’s roots for a few months while it establisbes itself)

Im excited to wait a decade before its trunk is thick enough!
