My 2nd bonsai bench 2.0 build
Excuse the non perfect level on th pillars I’ve not set stuff like that before🤣 Waiting for the ground to settle before tweaking it any more. (I may also end up tilting post 2&4 the opposite way)
The top is 50mm GRP mesh from NonSlipShop uk & the pillars are cinder blocks, the trim is a composite decking fascia board. Pretty happy with this and since it’s not timber it won’t ever rot, & after being hands on with 50mm GRP mesh I would definitely recommend it for any sort of plant bench. Total cost was £600 for 6m of benching.
GRP mesh 1mx3m cut in half £400 (NonSlipShop uk)
Blocks and trim £200 (Travis Perkins)
Works out to £100 per meter for a bench that will never rot!

Looks good. I think I would stain the cinder blocks darker personally. I do like the idea of avoiding wood but the mesh seems expensive. I wonder if it’s a bit overkill for the amount of weight it has to hold.
