Hello lovely plant people!
My lovely monstera is placed near a west facing window and is showing good signs of growth starting this summer. My question is how do I tie it to the pole to provide it with good support and get the new stems to climb up? I do not want horizontal growth and the leaves just falling in one direction..

It looks like you have your pole in the wrong place. In picture 3 you can see the back of the plant clearly, this is where the support pole should be placed. Then you turn the pot so the front of the plant faces your window (or whatever light source) and the pole is facing away from the light source. Only tie the monstera by its stem and not by its petioles also. Once it feels supported by its back with light in front it will straighten itself out and go up the pole get its leaves facing the light. If you have guests over you can always turn it to face the room temporarily for aesthetics then turn it back to face its window.
