Is it too late to put into a pot?

Hi, around a year ago, I chopped the top off a sad fiddle, then cut that part into two: the leafless trunk and the tip. Both have been doing alright in water and under a grow light. Now I’d like to put them into a pot and I have two questions, should I put them into separate pots, and will they survive in soil since they have been in water for so long?
