I bought a basil plant about two weeks ago. I pretty much left it alone besides water and sun. last week I re-potted, separated some roots, and got rid of the ones I didn't think would make it. I've been watering at night as well as having a mug of water underneath it and transferring it to the windowsill for sun during the day. So far they seem okayish? the smallest one isn't very strong though, it was bent towards the bottom and needed a stick to keep upright (3rd picture on the left)
I've noticed that they all have at least some brown on their leaves. From what I've read, it could be water or cold, but I'm not sure. I accidentally left them by the window when it got cold out, and I have no idea how much I should actually water it because I've seen a lot of different things. my questions are: is there any hope for the smallest plant or should I snip it? should I trim the tops(to make it grow wide) now or would it be too much stress for them? And how much should I be watering a small indoor basil plant like these?

It needs a lot of light. You should always be pinching off top leaves for a bushier grow. And they’re also very thirsty so def don’t water less. Your basil looks very sad. I’m surprised it’s even still alive. Basil is suppose to be one of those herbs that grows itself with minimum interferences.

This is only after a couple months. And in the last week it’s doubled. I just had to replant it.
