Hello all. I had Sir Walter Buffalo installed December 2025 and while it looked good and healthy for the first few months, it has really started deteriorating recently.

I note that I have two staffies who are piss machines which doesn’t help the situation, and while most of the lawn has come back looking healthy, the most common wee spots has died down to the soil. I worry I won’t be able to revive it and will need to get new turf laid again.

Does anybody have advice on what steps I should take first? Should I rake the area to remove the dead grass before aerating it? Should I continue watering it? Do I fertilise it?

First three photos is current state of lawn. Second to last photo was mid December 2025. Last photo was taken Mid Feb 2026.

how much direct sun does it get? need 4 hours minimum. you have a house one side, big fence on the other.

  2. As well as lack of sunlight it also doesn’t seem to drain properly (unless it rained last night). Maybe try a low light ground cover like *pratia pendiculata.*
