    These look to be elms.. not only did they bend the sidewalk, these trees are almost certainly being injected every 2 years with a Fungicide to protect them from Dutch elm disease. For a tree the size of the one in this picture that might require a technician to stand there while something like 50 gallons worth of material is pumped into the tree over several hours. That’s for one tree. The efforts are heroic and only happen in places we’re knowledgeable and humble people live.
