Today on The Yard Dad I’m continuing my spring lawn care routine by applying pre-emergent to help prevent weeds before they grow. In this video I apply prodiamine pre-emergent to the lawn and landscape areas to stop weeds like crabgrass before they germinate and take over.

Early spring lawn care is all about getting ahead of weed pressure, and applying pre-emergent herbicide at the right time is one of the most important steps for a clean, healthy lawn all season long.

In this video I show how I apply prodiamine pre-emergent using a spreader across the lawn and surrounding areas. This helps create a barrier in the soil that prevents weed seeds from sprouting. This is part of my DIY lawn care routine for maintaining a cool season lawn and keeping weeds under control during the growing season.

Applying pre-emergent in early spring helps prevent crabgrass and other annual weeds before they start growing. Iโ€™m focusing on timing and proper application to get the best results before full spring growth kicks in.

  1. I'm going to skip the pre-emerge on half of my yard this year I had a tree cut down a little bit of my grass is messed up so I'm going to see that area.but here in the north my soil temps not there just yet so I have a lot of time to watch your videos ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. Hey friend, love your videos. I donโ€™t know if youโ€™re aware, dimension and prodiamine are the same group code as well as pendimethalin. You would have a better barrier using. Prodiamine & Isoxaben also known as gallery two different group codes. Or something like crew which is dimension and isoxaben. Just thought I would pass it along.

  3. Rabbits, birds and worms supply all the materials and labor for my natural lawn all for no charge including free delivery! I just mow and get out of the way.
