Hey everyone! Long time listener, first time caller here. I recently bought a property that has, what I think, a perfect chicken coop opportunity on it. There are some things I will need to fix but overall it has a lot of potential. I have attached photos of the building itself as well as the 2 rooms inside.
My question for the group: What do you see that I could improve/add/takeaway/change to enhance this coop for security, quality of life, and overall general coop furnishings? I am open to any and all advice/suggestions. I have done nothing to the coop yet as is.
Thank you all so much and I look forward to hearing your ideas/advice!

I would definitely implement some sort of shelving unit or something. The chickens can climb in/under to lay eggs. Chickens prefer to lay their eggs inside of something
shelving, a zylophone, some wood tearable toys. Probably want a sectioned door to keep them in and let them out.
Okay it has been many years however:
1-Close up that ceiling roof- don’t want to find old eggs and friends etc.
2-boxes/sticks/roosting
3-inside outside area with mini door?
4-a door that is wild dog proof!
5-water tanks and feed tanks hanging
6-does it have electricity?
A) winter heat lamps/insulation?
B) fans for when it’s too hot in the summer?
C) If so outside moveable electric fence etc?
7-if you can make the floor more solid water proof etc/ it is so so very nice to just hose the muck of coop out when need be.
What an awesome coop this could be! Great comments here already. I’d add to make sure you have proper ventilation.
I’d do roosting bars across the far back from the door (2x4s across) and nesting boxes on one of the longer walls.
Depending on your budget and if you live where winters are tough, you might insulate the inside to protect from drafts/moisture. We did this and had way less frozen eggs and frost bitten combs, etc.
We love our automatic chicken door to make life easy, so adding that would be a suggestion as well.
