Have had this snake plant for years and this just started growing out of it. Any ideas?

Flower stalk! It’s going to bloom

The blooms smell absolutely intoxicating, I’m lowkey jealous. That said, there’s a theory that they only bloom when in distress and they send the flower spikes up as a form of self preservation when death seems imminent. I’ve had the same snake plant, in the same pot, for about 15 years and it’s only bloomed once.

Their fragrant flowers put out a wonderful scent in the evening, to attract their night-flying pollinators.

Flowering. I’ve had mine flower twice since I got it from my stepmom years ago. So I have no idea how old it is. The blossoms are very fragrant although not the prettiest in the place.

It is an indication you are doing it RIGHT to my knowledge they only flower when they are HAPPY, i.e. in the perfect spot light-wise and being watered when thirsty. Mom had em grandma had em I promise they lived but never flowered. I was gobsmacked when I saw a huge one in a lobby that was flowering. All that said whatever your care routine is keep it up
