In Gardeners’ World 2026 Episode 3, spring is bursting into life as Monty Don focuses on essential seasonal jobs while planning for summer colour and harvests. He delivers a helpful seed-sowing masterclass, cuts back vibrant Cornus stems, and divides ferns destined for the new Woodland Garden.

Frances Tophill visits a specialist nursery filled with hundreds of miniature daffodil cultivars, revealing the beauty and diversity of these compact spring favourites. In Llanelli, Sue Kent meets an inspiring gardener who has created a seed library dedicated to preserving flower and edible varieties perfectly suited to local Welsh growing conditions.

We also meet a florist in West Sussex devoted to growing fragrant sweet peas and a Wiltshire tomato enthusiast passionate about preserving heirloom varieties dating back to before the 1950s, collected from across the world.
