I'm sure this has been asked before, but curious to see what everyone's favorite non-official gardening tool is. Mine is this milkshake cup that is super sturdy, just the right size for my hands, and gets used more than most of the other things in my garden bin. NOBODY TOUCHES MY MILKSHAKE CUP.

32 to 48 oz yogurt containers for me
My backhoe, I use it to clear out weeds and grass and put in compost. Then I can play.
Talenti gelato cups. Perfect cylinders, no taper, clear. Great for soapy water collection of annoying insects
I like to use spoons for digging.
a fluff container, regular kitchen spoon, a hammer, and a funnel cake container thingie that you pour the batter out of.
Disposable chopsticks that have been used and washed a couple of times, and maybe are too splintery to use again. Perfectly good to write on with a sharpie and use as garden markers.
I like to use ceramic brie bowls to start seedlings in.
I have a yellow plastic bucket free from my power company Annual Meeting, use it when I weed and prune and plant and water and do other various tasks. Big enough to hold a good bit but not too heavy to tote around the yard. Sturdy metal wire handle. I have that pink funnel, too. Useful.

Plastic spoon to fill small containers for seedlings
BBQ bamboo skewers as small sized cheap stakes
Red solo cups for starting seeds
A mechanic’s inspection mirror, to look on the underside of leaves for pests, and a pair of curved tip hemostat pliers for pulling squash vine borers out of my pumpkins.
A branch from the nearest tree.
Kitchen scissors that are meant to cut through small bones. They are perfect for chopping up little branches and pruning.
Probably my hands, if that counts? I can’t really think of something else I use as a tool that isn’t an actual tool. Popsicle sticks are perhaps the only other thing; good for labelling and transplanting tiny seedlings.
Sawzall for the big roots that invade from the forest next to the garden (and clearing new beds).

Wooden clothes pins! Great for holding shade clothes in place during the hot desert summers!
This one specific giant flat head screwdriver outperforms any actual weeding tool I’ve tried. Also I like using the claw end of a framing hammer to trench lines during spring seeding.
A 2 gal yogurt bucket to transport dead stuff to the compost pile.
Popsicle sticks for marking where I planted.
A 10ft 1” round pole I use to plant my rows straight.
I like to use oui jars and Greenies cat treat containers for seed gathering for the next years garden.
Children.
Broken drumsticks. Come in handy all the time, like this diy drink holder:

Bamboo skewer. It makes it so easy to plant tiny seeds.
Solo cups for seed starting. They last a long time so I can use them year after year.
Mushroom tubs. I can use it to hold seed snails and water from the bottom.
My heat pump directly leaks its condenser water into my watering bucket. Apparently, the water is fine to use so it’s been my go to water bucket filler. My apartment is incredibly humid in the summer so it fills a 4 gallon bucket in 2 days.
Buried but deli containers. You can buy them in bulk. Different sizes but the lids are all the same. Originally got them for food containers as we were tired of the old ones and never finding the lids. Now we use them all over the house.
Wire fry basket to sift potting soil. Upgrade from my plastic colander that photodegraded.
Disposable plastic forks to hold small seedlings when up-potting.
A big pair of scissors. Usually the ones no one else is allowed to touch. Then I have to buy myself another pair of crafting shears.
