  1. My German grandmother always had fruit salad with our meals, and my mom would make a fruit salad. She had a Scandinavian background.

  2. Now that you have family in North Carolina you should make a trip out east and visit them and then go see Jenny and Jerry at Creekside.. that would be a fun trip and great videos to make along the way. And while you're out there be sure to go to Asheville and tour the Gardens at the Biltmore

  3. Canadian here. We switched to the metric system when I was in grade school. I think in metric when it comes to temperature, speed and distance but measure in feet and inches and weigh in ounces and pounds. If something is one kilogram, or one meter I'm always converting it in my head. 😅

  4. The plumbers grease does come in a tube. You would use it to lubricate valves and handles by squeezing some out and working ii in. The grease would most likely stay in place longer than a WD40 spray.

  5. YES! Aaron, you're officially in my tribe for saying let's just switch to metric. It would be weird for a few years, and then it would be better for the rest of time.

  6. Being in Canada and using Metric, most of us still use Imperial too for baking, measuring and such (cups, tsp, oven temps in F, feet etc). Metric is used more for outdoor temps (C) and travel distances (Km).

  7. There’s the real Aaron sporting his hat!! Just couldn’t get use to that no hat deal. 😂😂😂

  8. Purple hyacinth bean. Grows fast and loves heat. So it would depend on your climate. Very showy Violet blooms.

  9. We also do fruit salad for dinner all the time! We tease my mom about the size of fruit salad she makes for family gatherings because everyone gets a giant Tupperware full to take home.

  10. It would be very fun to see a quick little video called 'this time last year' addition to the weekly recap!

  11. Aaron, have you ever tried experimenting with Zoysia grass? I have it in my lawn (Iowa Zone 5b) and I love it. It keeps the soil underneath soft, so it feels wonderful to walk on. It does have a little bit longer dorment period in the Winter. But, it turns a great golden color. It takes longer to fill in (for a new lawn), but it's so worth it. If you have a place to experiment, I think you will like it.

  12. I think Benjamin and Samantha will always call it "Dirt Lands". I love how my boys, although now 43 and 40, will still refer to certain things as we called them even after all these years. It is like a nostalgic moment for these mommas heart!!!

  13. Vines for arbor. I tried Canary Bird Vine last year. It grew fast and had delicate yellow flowers. Very fine leaves. I've also had nasturtiums grow up the lattice at the side of my carport – 9'.

  14. Laura, talking about food. We live in South Central IL and we do fruit on our plate with dinner too! I don't make deserts at all unless it is a holiday and all our kids and Grands are here. I have always cooked meat, veg, salad, and fruit on our plates. Glad to know someone else does that too! LOL

  15. Wonderful recap. I love these and look forward to these each Sunday. Thank you. Have a blessed day and a blessed week everyone.

  16. On the formal garden fountains, have you considered lining it with a pond liner in the bottom basin with seals for the pumps under the pedestal and under the outer ledge.

  17. I’m in Canada and I don’t get Fahrenheit and couldn’t do the conversion to celsius to save my life. But I’m ok with inches and feet as well as pounds… miles not so much in terms of distance but can figure the speed as my speedometer shows it along with Km/h! We are kinda of a weird mix between metric and imperial.😅

  18. Hyacinth bean has pretty purple flowers for a wedding arbor. One of my favorites is cardinal vine, however red may not be the color you would want.

  19. I just helped my boss load up 8 carts of spring annuals that we grew. Snaps, alyssum, and (mostly) pansies that he’s delivering to a local park district tomorrow 😊 Pansies are such fun colors to see every spring!

  20. Someone may have already said this, but perhaps the wifi timer is turned to off, hence why you cannot get the pumps to work, not power to it. Have you ever considered lowering the base into the ground like a pool at surface level. So all you see if the fountain and the pool is in ground.🤩

  21. I had to laugh at your 'one' snail…my grands have an old glass aquarium that they collect snails in…like dozens!..one 8 year old twin let's them slime all over her arms..the other twin won't touch them🤣…I'm with Aaron..NUTS for gma!…but such fun for the Littles that like it🐌

  22. I remember long time ago there was a video of y'all touring the house and property when the previous owners still had it. I think it was around Christmas? Is it no longer up on your channel?

  23. For the wedding arbor, wire a bunch of stuff to look picture perfect. Even lengths of ivy as your leaves and tack the blooms into that. Or maybe Mandevilla vines, teased off its supports, and applied.

  24. Hi there Laura, Aaron & GA community. Not sure if it is available in the USA, but in Australia we have a fantastic product called Seasol. It is safe for all plants including sprouts/seedlings & is fantastic for root development, along with plant resilience & fruit &/ flower production. I don’t even bother with the expense of seedling potting mix any more. I just use a budget, finer mix & water with Seasol once a week. It also replaces the need for liquid fertiliser. I live in mid NSW, coastal climate which means high temperatures, high humidity, no frosts, & a lot of weed & pest pressure thus requiring great plant resilience.
