  1. We get the ruby throated hummers here near Ottawa, Canada, but not until May. We're having a late winter this year, and still getting snow. Living vicariously through you.😀 🌹🐞🦋

  2. I am in Memphis tn and have my jazz berry petunias in the ground and my feeders hung, my swallows returned today.

  3. I live in zone 9B in Northern California, east of Sacramento. Earlier in March, I discovered a hummingbird nest in one of our Japanese maple trees. Lo and behold, Mama showed up and consistently sat on the nest. Shortly after, we saw her sitting on the edge of the nest, poking her beek up and down, feeding her babies. And, just yesterday, we saw her two babies with their heads above the nest! We are super excited and feel very blessed she chose our tree to raise her little family. ❤

  4. I learned a lot ! I was not going to plant many annuals, but you have changed my mind. I am subscribing. Thank you from Tennessee .
What is the mulch in the garden?

  5. I only have maybe one skittish hummingbird that visits my garden in Minnesota, so I've been keeping a nice salvia or two around for it when it shows up later in the summer. The Rockin' series handily outperforms the the others I've tried, but I've only tried the blue so maybe I'll go for a purple this year. I did try cuphea last year and it turns out that Japanese beetles love a good munch on them, alas.

  6. I planted the rockin purple salvia last year and it was gorgeous with nice super dark big green leaves and nonstop flowers. I ordered another one this year and the other one came back after winter so now I have two beautiful purple salvia! I plan on getting more colors to add in. Wonderful plant!

  7. Zone 9A east of Austin, Texas, our first hummer arrived a week ago. Thanks for confirming that hummers return to the same summer home, I had long suspected this. I ha lave a large bed of Turk’s Cap that I just cut back. It will quickly grow to 5feet tall and my hummers love it!

  8. Had a ruby throat yesterday that couldn't get out of garage but w little coaxing made it out and went to the blooming milk weed❤ so I set out 3 feeders. I am southwest of Houston. Them darn qrackles though!!!😮

  9. I have a question. When you were planting in the above video, what did you sprinkle in the hole before placing the plant? Was that Biotone, which you've bragged about for encouraging root growth? Please let me know since I just bought a bag of Biotone. Thanks for your great, informative videos! Keep it going, y'all. I'm your neighbor in middle TN!

  10. Thank you for highlighting the safety aspects of using feeders !!! I have feeders and plants and it helps to avoid territorial disputes. I have loved lantana for years 🦜🦜

  11. I do love to see the Hummingbirds come visit in my yard. Thanks for info. on which flowers to plant to attract Hummingbirds. Love your videos!!❤

  12. Our hummingbirds in Virginia have never ever touched my Proven Winner petunias. And I’ve tried all kinds of petunias. Zero interest. BUT the Blue Suede Shoes salvia…. The hummingbirds are ALL OVER those, all season, until they migrate back South. Therefore, I plant Blue Suede Shoes specifically for them, and I try to spread them out so they fight a little less over them.
