Tomatoes the focus of next Canby Garden Club meet-up

The Canby Garden club will host local nursery owner Tammy Baldwin at its Tuesday, April 14, meeting.

The focus will be growing tomatoes and other annuals from seed, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Canby Public Library.

Baldwin owns Heaven Scent Nursery in Aurora (find out more information at https://www.facebook.com/HeavenScentOregon) and shares her plants at the Canby and Aurora Farmer’s Markets.

She also hosts a local gardening group and offers classes in sourdough baking.

“My passion for plants sprouted when I was a young girl,” Baldwin added. “I enjoy spending time with my pets and my family.”

Baldwin said she uses all her own seeds and cuttings and only 2 percent of her offerings are grown by other nurseries. One of her specialties is Fuchsias.

Everyone is welcome at the Canby Garden Club and you do not need to be a member to enjoy their free programs.
