Police have issued an appeal for information after a distraction burglary in Shirley.
Officers say a man demanded payment from a pensioner as he tried to ‘convince’ her he carried out gardening work.
The woman did not recall him doing work in her garden and the police were alerted after the incident on Malcolm Road, Shirley.

It happened at around 3pm. Now, after reviewing CCTV footage, police have issued a photo of a man they want to speak to in connection with the burglary.
In the appeal, shared today, March 29, West Midlands Police said: “APPEAL | Do you know who this is?
“We want to speak with him in connection with a distraction burglary on Malcolm Road, Shirley.
“At around 3pm on 4 February a man tried to convince a woman in her 80s that he carried out gardening work and demanded payment, despite the woman stating that she did not recall doing.
“Officers have carried out enquiries including reviewing CCTV footage but have been unable to identify this man.
