I have had the best luck just throwing them in milk jugs outside. My indoor germination of various penstemons has been miserable over the years, so congratulations.
As an aside, I spread some penstemon secundiflorus seed two years ago into somewhat amended clay soil. Amazingly, they germinated and grew in a tidy line last year. With the record shattering heat we’ve had in Colorado, they’re getting ready to blossom.
