Hi everyone!
New to plant caring.
I went to a plant workshop 2 weeks ago, where we received some plants to try and propagate. The instructor told us to put the stems with no roots in dry soil and leave it alone for 2-3 weeks.
As you can see on the image, there is only one tiny root and it appears dead to me. Is there any chance of saving this? Any advice for propagation in general?

That node still looks viable, but dry soil for a fresh cutting usually slows things way down, they root better with consistent moisture early on. That tiny root isn’t dead, just stalled.

I’d keep the soil lightly moist (not dry) or even switch to water for a bit until you get more roots going. Once you see a few inches of roots, they take off much easier, this early stage is always the slow awkward part 😅
