Hi all, just completing this 46x45x90 build for an (undecided) New Caledonia gecko, and have run into a snag! I was a little messy with my silicone application and have scraped off all that I can, but it’s impossible to get all these little bits off, especially with the angle that I’m working with. Tried with both a scraper and a craft knife. Acetone didn’t do anything on this area, is there any way that I can get off this last thin layer of silicone other than spending the next 4-6 hours scraping 2mm channels into it?

Glass scraper
Basically a handle for a Stanley blade
Hey there! Frustrating,I know. I have had success using a paper towel or microfiber cloths soaked in isopropyl alcohol, and slowly cleaning the glass with it. The iso will help dissolve the silicone and the cloth will help clean the glass! Hope this helps🤘🏽
I have a sharp set of chisels for woodworking and they worked great for removing excess silicone
I used normal racor blades and it was a gamechanger!
Razer blade
You need a nice sharp brand new razor blade and it’ll work just fine. Get them from a home improvement store like Menards, Lowe’s, Home Depot. Also some aquarium algae scrapers use real replaceable razor blades, but harder to find locally I’m sure.
