New to gardening and dont know why her leaves are droopy, the leaves are thin aswell. MY girl says a bottom watering pot might be useful to get it back in good health.
There aren't any pest on it, as ive planted it about a week ago, and it gets plenty of sunlight.
I had put a layer of gravel at the bottom, and it has woodchips mixed in with the soil as well as plant food.
Any advice is appreciated, its only my second plant that I've started, and I'd love to hear whatever, im willing to learn.

My basil goes through water and droops if it’s thirsty. Check the soil, it may need more water.
They look thirsty. If it’s getting outdoor direct sunlight it’s going to need more frequent waterings and unlike most other Mediterranean herbs, basil doesn’t like their soil completely drying out between waterings. Also I would do away with the gravel because it’s a myth that it helps with drainage and not use woodchips because it steals nitrogen from the soil and can cause root rot because of uneven drying.
Water it & keep it off the hot ground
These guys need a lot of water and a lot of light.
Gravel at the bottom reduces the amount of soil the plant has to retain moisture. And reduces the amount of soil it has to put down roots.
A terracotta pot does not help to retain moisture, terracotta causes the moisture to dissipate.
I suggest a plastic pot with drainage holes, and regular potting soil that can hold on to moisture.
That clay pot you have to water every 13 hours, use plastic
Try with some water
-Needs a good water asap!
-Take it out of clay pot and replace with plastic
-Watch a few videos on YouTube or reels to acquaint yourself with some basil tips. You’ll get a goof idea on how to prune, how to water, lighting needs, etc.
