As the others stated this appears to be (very dry conditions) Bald Cypress. They’re usually found in bottoms, wetlands, and in other shallow / almost swampy areas very commonly close to rivers.
From your picture I’d guess you’re maybe in lower extremes of the Midwest? Maybe southernmost Illinois, Kentucky, or that area?

You can tell bald cypress from pond Cyprus by the leaves. Pond cypress leaves point upwards and bald cypress trees drop leaves in winter.
