The seventh annual “Spring Garden Giveaway,” in partnership with the city of Eureka, Recology Humboldt County, Redwood Community Action Agency, Humboldt Waste Management Authority, and the North Coast Community Garden Collaborative, will be held April 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Recology Sorting Facility, 555 Vance Ave., Samoa.
Free compost, plants and seeds will be available. Everything is on a first-come, first-served basis. Make sure to bring something to haul compost home, be it bags or buckets or a truck bed or trailer. Some shovels will be available, but folks are encouraged to bring their own if they have one.
In addition to compost, plants and seeds will be available, and those attending are encouraged to bring their own seeds and plants to exchange as well.
