A well-known restaurant chain famous for its unlimited breadsticks is making a return to Ontario, with a new location set to open at Vaughan Mills.
Olive Garden will be opening inside the shopping centre at 1 Bass Pro Mills Dr., taking over the former Pickle Barrel space.
Last year, Recipe Restaurant Group International announced it had acquired eight Olive Garden restaurants in Canada. The chain previously operated in Ontario but closed its locations in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its remaining Canadian locations are in Western Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The Vaughan Mills restaurant is one of three locations announced as part of the brand’s re-entry into Ontario, alongside sites in Westboro (Ottawa) and Ajax. The Vaughan and Ottawa locations are expected to open this summer, while a timeline for Ajax has not yet been confirmed.
Menu offerings are expected to include Olive Garden staples such as pasta dishes, soups and salads, with items like Fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Alfredo, Lasagna Classico and spaghetti dishes.
Signage is now up at Vaughan Mills, indicating the location is moving closer to opening.
Recipe Restaurant Group International operates nearly 1,100 restaurants across Canada and internationally, with brands including Swiss Chalet, Harvey’s, Montana’s, Kelseys Original Roadhouse and The Pickle Barrel.
