Do not sleep on spring ephemerals! These guys were completely covered in creeping charlie when I found them today while weeding. So also a good PSA that’s it’s never too early to weed. Because if I didn’t force myself outside today I don’t think I would have saved them. They guys were really covered, poor babies. Also I planted these bulbs like two seasons ago and totally forgot I even had them in the ground. So don’t give up on the spring bulbs! They can take a long time to get established. Just stay calm and keep weeding, they’ll eventually come.

We have a huge swarm of ground bees this spring. There isn’t much for them to eat and I was looking at claytonica virgnica. I was thinking about winter sowing them this year for planting next spring, but if they grow from bulbs that seems a bit easier. I’ll have to check Greenscapes.
