I would like to introduce Orostachys ‘Kyoka’ (鏡花), a variegated succulent lineage from Japan.
This line is characterized by:
• Stable white marginal variegation
• Compact, highly symmetrical rosettes
• High propagation stability, with approximately 80–90% of offsets inheriting the variegation
Background:
The origin traces back to a white-variegated Tsuru-Renge collected in Shiretoko, Japan around 1980.
In 2016, during propagation, a distinct and stable form emerged.
By 2018, the traits were stabilized and formally named ‘Kyoka’.
One of the key aspects of this lineage is its consistency.
Compared to many unstable variegated Orostachys forms, ‘Kyoka’ maintains both form and variegation at a high rate through offsets.
Naming consistency is still developing within the community, and misidentification with similar variegated forms is common.
Therefore, I documented and clearly defined this lineage.
This post is part of a broader effort to preserve cultivar identity and provide a reliable reference.

That is gorgeous. Where did you buy it?
Wow lucky you
