B&M shoppers are eager to get their hands on a range of budget-friendly plants that are available for just £5. With spring finally on the horizon, many people are turning their attention to their gardens and outdoor spaces, keen to make the most of them while the warmer weather lasts.
If you’re lucky enough to have a garden, sprucing it up with flowers and plants can make it a much more enjoyable and desirable space to spend time in after a long, hard day at work.
Gardening, while therapeutic to many, can be time consuming and expensive – but B&M’s budget-friendly flowers are proving to be a big hit among shoppers.
The popular retailer is selling a range of hydrangeas for £5 each. On TikTok, content creator Liv, who posts online under the name Liv Loves, shared a video highlighting how to care for the discounted flowers.
In the footage, it captures her walking through a B&M and garden centre store to track down the flowers. Narrating, she explains: “If you bought the £5 hydrangeas from B&M and you don’t know how to make them thrive, here’s what you need to know.
“They love a partial sunny, shady location; the soil you use can actually change their colour; they need acidic, ericaceous compost; you can grow them in a pot – just make sure it’s big enough and make sure you give them a good feed.”
In the comments section, fellow TikTok users were keen to share their thoughts. One person said: “I brought 4 of the white ones yesterday and planted them in my garden today.”

Another said: “Heading there today! So excited!”
A third commented: “Ooh I want to go to B&M.”
One shopper, who had trouble tracking down the cheap plants, said: “I’m dying, I need to know which B&Ms are doing these. I’ve been to multiple and I can’t find them.”
To which, Liv replied: “It’s the B&Ms with garden centres, not all of them have one – have a look at the store finder.”
Someone else added: “Got some this morning thank you.”
Retailer B&M, where the hydrangeas are for sale, is a popular feature on the British high street thanks to its eclectic mix of products from food and drinks to homeware accessories and gardening supplies.
It was founded by Malcolm Billington and Brian Mayman, with the first store opening in Cleveleys, Lancashire, back in 1978. Its now famous name comes from its founders, though it was originally known as Billington & Mayman before being shortened to B&M.
Since its conception in the 70s, it has grown and now boasts more than 750 stores in the UK, as well over 120 stores in France.
