Please be gentle with me, I have the opposite of a green thumb and until now have been so happy to have kept this transplant alive for a year. New foster cat has just started eating the leaves,,but I think there’s a bigger issue. I water her weekly. TIA!

This may sounds stupid, but smell the dirt… does it smell like a litter box? Your cat may be using it as one. Does the pot have drainage holes? Have you changed anything about the environment it’s been living in?

That pot looks way too big. Also looks like the petioles might be buried which will cause them to rot

is it in front of a window? the biggest issue is the lack of sunlight.

Use a smaller pot with a well draining, chunky soil mix. I use perlite, potting mix and orchid bark mixed together. Put her on a support. Do not water on a schedule, only when almost dry. Mine gets watered every 2 to 3 weeks. A window with Indirect sunlight. They love light but be careful not to burn the leaves. Make sure not to completely bury her like another commenter said. You want the plant to sit ontop of the soil but bury the roots, if that makes sense. Hope this helps! She still has hope!

Just a heads up, monsteras are mildly toxic to cats due to insoluble calcium oxalates. Ingestion causes oral irritation, mouth burning, drooling, and vomiting.

Cats do instinctually like to chew on plants though so maybe consider getting some cat grass and moving the monstera a bit more out of reach.

Besides that, try to water only when the soil feels dry when you stick a finger in, and put the monstera facing whichever window in your house gets the most light.

Best of luck! You’ve got this 😊
