Green-fingered growers are in for a treat as the hugely popular BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair returns to Beaulieu in May.

Aimed at gardening novices and seasoned growers, the vibrant weekend will feature a host of horticultural highlights, delicious food and drink, and live music. It takes place at Beaulieu from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd May.

Event tickets also include access to Beaulieu’s extensive grounds, gardens and attractions, including the National Motor Museum, Palace House, the medieval abbey, and Secret Army Exhibition.

This year the headline sponsor, Hillier, will be creating a neighbourhood of gardens featuring a family garden, a potted garden, a cottage garden, and an urban jungle garden. The stand will also feature plant advice, drop-in talks and daily sessions at the BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine Stage.

Elsewhere at the event BBC Newsround presenter and keen allotmenteer, De-Graft Mensah, has joined forces with professional gardener and writer Lucy Chamberlain to create a “beautiful border”. The plot is inspired by a campaign encouraging people to transform one square metre of outdoor space to support wildlife, nature, and biodiversity.

De-Graft Mensah said: “This year, I’m going to be encouraging people to make every metre matter and to show them how to design a border.”

On the main stage, BBC Gardeners’ World presenters Adam Frost (Friday), Frances Tophill (Saturday), Ashley Edwards and Sue Kent (both Sunday) will be sharing expert advice for the spring gardening season with host David Hurrion.

Meanwhile, the award-winning Hampshire garden designer, Vicky Lincoln, and landscaper Rob Woodhouse will be creating a showcase garden called Nature’s Spa, inspired by the poetry of William Wordsworth.

At the ‘In Conversation With’ stage, horticulturalist Ade Sellars hosts a daily programme of relaxed gardening and foodie chat with Good Food editor and chef, Barney Desmazery, food and flower grower Helen Hutchings Cox, and BBC Gardeners’ World presenter Ashley Edwards.
