Get your secateurs at the ready – the countdown to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show is well underway, and one standout installation is already shaping up to be the star of the Great Pavilion.
This May, trade association Flowers from the Farm will unveil the first-ever ‘mini flower farm’ inside the Great Pavilion – widely considered the crown jewel of RHS Chelsea. A true first of its kind, the 20 x 15ft plot will showcase the full breadth of crops British flower farmers can grow in May, promising a visual feast.
Flower farming, sometimes known as ‘floriculture’, is the practice of growing and selling flowers at scale. Flowers from the Farm champions British-grown cut flowers, with members ranging from a cottage garden grower in Cornwall to Pembridge Farm on the Buckinghamshire–Oxfordshire border.
At RHS Chelsea 2026, visitors will have the chance to see a flower farm at work, brought to life through this miniature recreation.

So what will the flower farm look like? There will be a Fibonacci-inspired swirl, designed to mimic the unfurling of a flower. Expect wildflower corners, beds of individual cut-flower varieties framed with foliage, and plenty of richly layered, vibrant colour throughout.
The flower selection is sure to delight. Using block planting to create sweeping banks of British-grown blooms, varieties will include ranunculus (from the buttercup family), foxgloves, orlaya, peonies and geums. Flowers from the Farm describe it as a ‘garden display that the Flower Show audience will likely never have seen before’.
The miniature farm will be planted in Sustain compost and, after the show, returned to Sustain, where it will become a centrepiece growing space within Sustain’s compost heaps.

The installation will shine a spotlight on the benefits of British-grown cut flowers, while inspiring more people to try their hand at flower farming.
‘This is a huge opportunity for us as growers and business people to demonstrate the value of cut flowers to both the economy and to the ecology of the British Isles,’ says Georgie Newbery, flower farmer and external chair of Flowers from the Farm.
