SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Unity Gardens is gearing up for two spring events, including an Irish Day volunteer planting session and an Earth Day celebration.
Sara Stewart, executive director of Unity Gardens, joined us on WNDU 16 News Now at Noon to tell us more about the events.
Irish Day event
Unity Gardens will hold its Irish Day on Tuesday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is seeking volunteers to plant peas and potatoes, a tradition tied to St. Patrick’s Day. Fiddler’s Hearth will cater the event.
Earth Day celebration
Unity Gardens is also preparing for an Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 18. The event will feature workshops and learning opportunities.
