The area above the green line was a ditch that I filled in last year. I sowed tall fescue, thinking it would match my yard and, spoiler alert, it doesn't. It's significantly darker than the rest of my grass. I live in upstate NY. What's the most affordable option to blend this in? Any ideas what other type of grass my yard could be? I know it's hard to tell as the snow just melted.

First thing, ditch may have been there for a reason, usually a place for the water to go. That aside, you can kill everything where the ditch was and replant grass seed that better matches your yard. I’m sure you can find some more info online or go to your local homedepot and ask for suggestions for your area.
