REDDING, Calif. – Thousands of people gathered at the Redding Civic Auditorium over the weekend for the annual Redding Home and Garden Show. The event featured 160 vendors from the region, showcasing a wide array of ideas, services, and products for home projects.

The show attracted many visitors interested in home improvement, landscaping, and services to enhance their homes. Vendors set up booths to display new products, offer advice, and answer questions from homeowners eager to start their next project.

“The home shows are, I would say by far, the best attraction for customers because they get to come and talk to us, you know, with no pressure, get to see the product and decide if they want to do something or not,” said Zaher Murad, owner of Kitchen and Bath Transformations.

Organizers emphasized the event’s goal of connecting local businesses with local customers. “We think that, um, connecting local buyers, local people to the business is critical. I think it’s just good overall for our local economy,” said Paul David, co-owner of the Redding Home and Garden Show.

Putting the show together requires months of preparation, but organizers say the community response makes it worthwhile every year. “People really look forward to it. They start planning six months in advance for this type of event,” said Brenna David, co-owner of the Redding Home and Garden Show.

For businesses, the show offers an opportunity to connect with new customers as spring projects begin. “There’s a lot of attention here. So, we’ve been getting the word out to a lot of people and telling everybody that spring is here,” said Ashton Aldaco of Wyntour Gardens.

Some visitors found the timing of the show perfect for their needs. “We just bought our home, so we’re extra excited this year. We’ve been here before, but this is the extra fun year with the new home. So, everyone is, um, they have great stuff here,” said Lacy Spencer, a show attendee.

Events like this provide local businesses the chance to make one-on-one contact with potential customers while offering homeowners a one-stop shop for inspiration. Organizers are already planning for next year’s event, as the Redding Home and Garden Show continues to grow with more participation from local businesses and homeowners.
