My mom gave me 3 amaryllis bulbs just after Christmas. They seem to be flourishing? Their leaves have grown almost a foot since I got them. I’ve read different things on how to care for them so I’m a little unsure of what to do. Do I need to repot them?

  1. Type “what to do with amaryllis after blooming” into google and you’ll get several steps to care for them

I never repot. Usually, once it flowers, I let the leaves die off and put it in a dark space for however long with rare watering. There may be some leaf buds when it’s ready. I’ve had some luck but I would say perfect! These are the instructions I got from a garden and plant specialist.

Like the other person said, check some reliable sources through The Goog.

Long story short these things bloom and then after the blooms die back they grow tall and stay that way

    *forever*

Yes, you *can* get them to bloom again, but good luck pulling it off. It’s basically the same thing happens with poinsettias. You can keep them alive forever but they’ll never bloom again unless you expose them to darkness/cool temperatures at the right time

So basically it’s easier/cheaper to simply throw them away after blooming and get a new one each time if amaryllis blooms are something you want to see regularly

I’m not sure if they’ve bloomed yet? My mom bought them around Christmas and since I’ve had them they have not flowered.
