So for 2 years I’ve grown this thing in a pot. After it has sky rocketed about 7 feet tall I cannot repot, so I shoved it in the ground. Wish me and her luck. ❤️
My friend ground planted one in Palm beach county and it seemed to THRIVE.

Only thing I want to say is id try to make sure its on higher ground. Especially in Florida where it rains so often and has the humidity adding to it. Even if its just a mound of dirt but that will help water run off a bit in the rainy months

I’ve come so close to putting some in ground. I’m high and dry at my place with fast draining ground, but I’m in north Florida and once every 5 or so years it’ll get stupid cold. Just a couple months ago it got to 20°. It even burnt my Peruvian Apple cactus back. Trichs would’ve been toast.
Edit: if I was south of let’s say Daytona, I’d have a bunch in the ground. Up near Jax, they all went in the garage for a couple days this winter

Let me add…. With pot it was over 7’ tall!! Not easy to work with. 🤣

How amazing! Straight goals here. Beautiful cactus! New Florida grower here. Acclimating mine now. They came from a tent in Pennsylvania. Seem to be super happy under my covered porch, but I haven’t watered in two weeks. Just got a bunch of pumice planning on going like 70/30 inorganic to organic. Any tips?
