So i was trimming my window cactus garden. I had a cookie sheet of freshly trimmed cactus tops, when one dropped.
Instinctively I tried to catch it with my foot.
This spine is currently stuck in my big toe. The point of it is almost poking out the bottom of my big toe, and the big end is just under the skin. Cant grab it with tweezers
Having a veterinarian come over and pull it out. Updates to come

I didn’t know veterinarians made house calls for cactus toes. Sending love.
Ouch! Best of luck, post photos haha
It may be best to push it all the way through and pull it out that way I know that they are barbed

Its about this long
I’m in pain reading this
Thought’s and prayers.
I’m going for an ultrasound to find an OTB spine lodged in my palm…ick. Since October.
Thanks for the mental warning. I too would have tried to hacky that shit back to my…..hand?!?!!? 😱
But of luck and quick healing.
I’ve had spines stuck deep in me. Had to cut myself open to get to them. Not sure if you’re built like that but glad brother!!!!
I accidentally gave a bridgesi a upwards karate chop effectively sinking 6 spines in to tho side of my hand. Next 2 weeks my hand looked like a baseball mitt. it took 3 months to get them all out and one was like an inch and a half.
I really empathize with the foot-catch reflex so thank you for sharing your story, this just may save me in the future.
I have a heavy sharp kitchen knife so I’ve had some training with that.
Even with shoes might be dicey depending what you got on.
god speed
Note to self:
Let falling cacti fall.
#1 rule in the kitchen apparently applies to the hobby too. Don’t catch falling sharps
