Love of Gardening event coming to Lake Country this spring

Lake Country Garden Club is hosting an event for gardeners of all experiences on April 11.

The seminar will take place at Lake Country Community Complex (George Elliot Secondary School) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The event will feature techniques on gardening in the Okanagan climate, special speakers, and presentations​

The keynote presentation is Spring Garden Primer, delivered by Ken Salvail, a grower coach. He will also lead additional sessions on growing unusual plants and practical tips for growing healthy trees and shrubs.

Sigrie Kendrick of the Okanagan Xeriscape Association will also be presenting, sharing advice on growing a garden while conserving water during hot and dry summers.

Additionally, Samantha Ulasy of Margaret Valley Landscaping, Proven Winners Certified Landscape Professional, will present a session on garden design and maintenance.

Other sessions will cover vegetable gardening, container gardening, and creative seed-starting techniques.

The event will also feature an exhibitor area with information on FireSmart landscaping, composting, and local garden-related products and services.

Participants can also meet members of the Lake Country Garden Club and learn about the benefits of a club membership.

Registration is $30 per person, and attendance is limited to 200 participants.
