Hey all,

Sorry for spamming the subreddit (another post to follow)! I’ve a strawberry plant growing in the ground and has a lot of fruits. I got another two growing very vigorously in a big pot, however they’re not fruiting at all. When I bought these from the nursery there were a few berries on them. They haven’t got a single fruit since I’ve replanted them. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks team!

It’s not Summer. That’s when they fruit.

My strawberries are also not fruiting. They have been in the ground for over a year and no fruit. They have now produced lots of runners. Do I cut off the runner and plant them, or will they also not fruit like the parent plants?

They look heat stressed with upward leaf curl.

Are they being pollinated? Mine are pollinated by ants. It is quite tempting to kill the ants but without them I get no fruit. This year has not been great for fruit but you should have some, at least.

The red flowering strawberries are not very good fruiters, more ornamental.

We had normal white ones next to the red ones in identical situation and we got a handful of small bitter strawberries from the red flowering ones vs nice largish ones from the white.
