I know nothing about trees and don’t know if you can tell how old they are based on looks, but I have these willows in my backyard, in a very old city in Massachusetts. Growing up in New England I’ve seen a lot of willows, some that have placards saying they were planted in the 1800’s, but none come close to being as big as the ones in my yard. They’re over 60 feet (which I’m pretty sure is way above average) and look like they’ve been there since the beginning of time. I’ve had this debate with my family for years and I need an answer. My family thinks they’re 50-100 years old, I think more like 150-250. Here’s a Photo of the tree if it helps.
