It had gotten so top heavy – constantly growing and pushing out new leaves, but dropping lower leaves at the same pace. I’ve tried notching it multiple times but it wouldn’t branch. So…let’s see what happens? I’m also propagating the cuttings in case this fails

It’s hard to take that plunge. Good luck with it all.

I also tried notching for several months before finally chopping it and I regret not doing it earlier. It grew 5 branches in a few weeks

you will absolutely not regret this! I did this a while back. Now I have 3 fiddle leaf figs and thinking about cutting the big one back even more lol

  4. So I’m thinking I’m about to do this.

Question…can I propagate like pieces of stem that are cut at the top and bottom? Like yes the top part ofc with a couple leaves but the middle parts?

What is the purpose of the tinfoil on the substrate?
