Hi everyone! I’m a plant enthusiast from South Korea. Since I’m not fluent in English, I’m using a translator—I hope you understand if there are any typos.
This is the plant that started my obsession with Labisia. I bought it as "Labisia sp." because the seller didn't know the exact species name either. Even among local enthusiasts in Korea, it's hard to identify because its appearance and colors change so much as it matures.
Here are some details that might help with identification:
-Texture: The leaves are hairless but have a very soft, velvet-like feel.
-Pattern: It has a deep, embossed-like pattern. These dark areas are physically raised, giving the leaf a bumpy/textured surface.
-Color Change: The last photo shows the plant when it was younger. The stem color is currently shifting from orange to a more vibrant, saturated tone.
-Speculation: Some people suggested it might be "Next 18," but the colors have changed again recently, leaving me unsure.
I’ve included a photo with my hand for a size reference. I’d be so grateful if anyone could identify this beauty or point me toward any resources/databases for Labisia species.
Thank you so much for your help!
