Saturday 17th January 2026, and this week I have been back to Dobbie’s Garden Centre in Llansamlet, Swansea, to have the second opinion of my parents, Ian and Anne, on the Horizon Arbour that Tony and myself have chosen. Will we order it?

I have also been out in the garden, planning ahead for spring, and thinking about what changes I want to make in the 2026 season. What am I thinking about? Well, all will be revealed in the video…..

Let me know in the comments what you think of the changes…all ideas are welcomed..

I have also been working behind the scenes in the last 2 weeks, in a collab with Eddie, who has a YouTube channel based in Birmingham called ‘Weoley Tropicals’…

He has been making a video of YouTube Gardening Channels with under 3,000 Subscribers, that he is encouraging viewers to watch in 2026. He kindly asked if I would take part in the video, and of course, I agreed…I will link the video at the end of this weeks episode if you would like to view it, and maybe help to Subscribe to their channels to help them to ‘grow’ in the ‘Tropical Gardening Community’.

Available with Subtitles.
Please Like, Comment & Subscribe, and don’t forget to hit the notification bell, so you never miss an episode…

Take care, and see you soon,

Thanks so much for watching, and I will see you soon,

  1. The arbour even with its delay is going to look stunning in that position. Very exciting. What ideas are you going to allow to creep over it?

  2. I think the rostrata would be better in the bamboo space rather than by the greenhouse!
Looking forward to your spring adventures ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒด๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿˆโค๏ธ

  3. Lovely garden, cut your Salvia 'Amistad back to pot level and put it in your greenhouse. It should come back next year. I've had mine in the greenhouse the last two years, and back out in spring. With no problems .

  4. Lovely garden in Jan. Since you asked ๐Ÿ˜Š, I think put your yucca rostrata where the roses are now so it would have more space to stand out as a specimen plant and not be as cramped as it would be amidst the palm, tree fern etc. Oh and Tonyโ€™s agave might look great near the rostrata? (Kind of a mediterranean corner with a few decorative rocks? Besides that bamboo might grow to swamp the view beside the pergola, I think. Iโ€™m doing the same thing as you-planning for spring garden changes, so my mind is working overtime muddling over new plant placement, including adding the windmill palm you recommended ๐Ÿ˜Š.

  5. Tracey your Oleandar should be ok outside where you are ๐Ÿ‘ Mine has been outside in a pot for a good few years โ€ฆ I did protect it with fleece for the first few years but this year it hasnโ€™t had much only on the coldest times. Iโ€™ve bought two more last year and they havenโ€™t had any issues either. The garden is looking amazing and canโ€™t wait to see your arbour up ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒด

  6. Hi Tracey, with phormiums you should dig up the plants and divide them into at least 4. This is really easy to do – just put a spade through them. You will need to do this every 3 years or so to stop them from getting too big. Tom
