As the weather begins to warm up, many of us are turning our attention to the garden.

Spring is the perfect time to get outdoor spaces back into shape, whether that means uncovering furniture, pruning, planting or mowing the lawn.

Another job that often tops the spring to-do list is cleaning the patio – and Aldi has a product that could make the task much easier.

Available in store from 12 March, the supermarket is selling its high-pressure washer for £99.99, designed to help blast away stubborn dirt and grime from outdoor surfaces.

According to Aldi, the tool can turn garden maintenance into a “quick, satisfying task”, making it ideal for giving patios and decking a fresh start after winter.

While pressure washing can be carried out at any time of year, like most garden maintenance jobs, the key times are spring and autumn. This is so you can remove winter debris and prepare for warmer weather, or remove summer growth before the colder seasons.

This isn’t the first time Aldi has released the pressure washer. It was previously on sale last year and has also been sold in the US.

Online reviews say it works well for small jobs, with one person adding: “I wouldn’t tackle a whole house or driveway but it worked for our back porch and the small amount of siding on the back of the house.”

Another shopper wrote: “It works well for washing a car and getting sidewalks cleaned.”

Pressure washers are a popular way to remove built-up dirt from patios, cars and decking.

Their versatility is part of their appeal. As well as cleaning patios, they can be used to wash cars and bikes, freshen up garden furniture, clear dirt from gutters and even tackle grease on a well-used barbecue. Some people also use them for tasks such as cleaning windows or outdoor carpets, although it’s important to use the right pressure setting to avoid damage.

Aldi’s garden range includes a variety of different products, such as the wooden mini greenhouse (£39.99), which helps to shield seedlings from Britain’s unpredictable weather, while still letting the sunshine in.

The potting bench (£24.99) features two storage shelves, a foldaway side table and handy hooks and the wooden raised planters (£24.99) are “ideal for growing herbs, vegetables and flowers in compact spaces.”
