I’m on a roll and nothing is getting in my way to save my allotment! In this episode I go at it, hell for leather, hedge trimming my way around the overgrown allotment garden.

Well done lass, glad to see you back 😁
That’s the spirit, know that you can do this and it’s all going to be fantastic. You will sleep well tonight. , Hedge trimmers are a great tool I’m sure your arms are tried and will tomorrow. Your weather is ahead of us we still have more snow to melt..Thanks for sharing and inspiring us all. 👍❤️😊🇨🇦
Good job girl!!!! ❤❤❤❤ you are well on your way to an amazing garden year!
Katrina,I have a suggestion for a different kind of vlog, make a video of you doing the bonfire 🔥🔥🔥I would bet there are a lot of people like myself who would love to see you taking out your frustrations by burning your deadfall…just think 🤔 how satisfying it is to watch a campfire burn at a campground and now you can take us along with you. There is something very gratifying about burning all the waste materials, limbs scraps weeds and such.just a thought, either way you did a great job, keep it up.👏✌️👏👋👋hi Kevin from Michigan.
👍
Nice Work Katrina! Very satisfying indeed, you are a woman on a mission and you are getting there. 🌻🍒🍅🥕🌶🥬🥦🍓🫐🦋
❤❤❤
Loved this video! It’s great because lots of gardening content is from manicured gardens. Can’t wait to follow your progress from rags to riches.
What a transformation! Must feel so good seeing it all open up like that 😊
It's a lot of work but the jungle wins if we don't keep whacking it back. I hope you have a great garden this year. Cheers!
I love your care for wildlife ❤
Well done Katrina. That was a huge effort but so worthwhile and extremely satisfying. You must have been shattered. You probably have your own method of getting bramble roots out of the ground. I stumbled upon my method by accident really. When I was putting up a large fence, I bought a 'trencher' spade to dig the post holes. It's turned out to be really good for digging out bramble roots. It is incredibly strong with a narrow steel blade and combined steel shaft / handle. It was relativley cheap too – £29 from Screwfix a few years ago. Anyway good luck with the clearing. Cheers
Well done you for tackling a very bid job!! That's called persistence!! I've got a garden bed that's overgrown with weeds at the moment…and I'm not in a hurry to do the job either!! I got to do it by myself like you!! And yeah…I'll keep procrastinating on that one!! LOL!! Personally for me…I would have given up the allotment and got another one!! But that's just me personally!! I know I'm being a negative Nancy right now!! Sorry!! LOL!!
Well done Katrina! You achieved such a lot in just two hours, my plot is similar especially regarding brambles! I tried so hard last year to keep the tips of them from touching the ground and rooting immediately! Lost the battle, so starting again on my war. Can’t dig them out unless very tiny. I will also have to be careful with the bramble and other stuff cut back re the wildlife. From previous years I remember brambles burning really fiercely.
Good work, well done.
Well done you certainly worked hard I think you deserve a nice large cup of tea and a biscuit to go with it 🎉 xxx
Please use the ladder opened. Leaning it precariously against a week fencing is asking for disaster.
Looks exhausting but also extremely therapeutic!
Great work Katrina!!
I felt a sudden rush to go outside and do what you did. 😅
But currently, It's bedtime so I'll hold my horses 😂
Interesting that you can do a bonfire on your plot. This is strictly forbidden on our allotments. Instead we have a communal bonfire site where all dry wood can be taken for burning. We then light a fire onece in a while when the weather and wind are good so that neighbouring homes don't get smoke. Good luck with the new growing season!
