It’s an allium- member of the onion family. There are several that are grown solely as ornamentals, but even the edible ones have lovely flowers. I don’t know if anyone will be able to tell you specifically what type of allium this is from the flowers alone. There are some with purple flowers, too. I grow allium giganteum in Alaska.

Ooooh I just planted these for the first time last fall with some anemone in a few containers for my porch.

In the states sometimes called Persian Onion (at least the really big ones). There are smaller varieties as well. The big varieities can grow around 20″ tall. They come in purple and white.

They look a lot like my garlic when they flower. How do they smell to you? I can’t stuff my face enough in mine when they bloom. It’s way too early in the year yet here in NY for garlic though. At least outside of a greenhouse. I love Alium blooms. They are always so fun to look at. And the pollinators seem to love them.
