East window sounds great. For watering I just always fill up the pot, let it sit for 10 min to 1 hour and then pour away the water. The only issue I see is the spraying. If there is water collecting at the base of the leaves this can easily rot your orchid. It’s better to either have a humidifier next to it or just not mist it at all. The effect of misting is very temporary so it’s not really worth the hassle. Good luck, orchids can be decently hardy if you get the watering right.
