    Ficaria verna aka Lesser Celandine

    https://www.rhs.org.uk/weeds/celandine

To say it’s a beast of a weed is an understatement. It develops bulbils, that break off when you dig it up, and from every bulbil you get a new plant. BUT just to make things extra fun, it spreads by seed too.

But if you keep attacking it every spring, eventually you’ll get on top of it.

  2. From the action shots provided, I’d suggest a type of celandine. I had it all over my last garden, I absolutely adored it it as great ground cover and has beautiful yellow flowers.

The other commenter helpfully identified it as lesser celandine and provided a great link with more info!

That’s ficaria verna. An early blooming native wich likes clay soils.

But why would you want to “deal with it” ? It’s a nice non invasive plant, try to appreciate it and let it be instead of wanting to rip it off ! 😀

  4. Aka Ranunculus ficaria (but I guess, this name is outdated)

For plant identification the details matter so having good quality photos is the way to go.

These are terrible quality pics lol I think you need to move less when taking photos. If you can’t for whatever reason, then prop the phone on something sedentary, like a table or a rock or a truck tailgate, then take the photo.

I get it, I always take crooked photos and I think it’s because I’m actually crooked…

  7. Here in the States this grows in my lawn, I personally love it! Beautiful shade of green, yellow blooms that close in the evening, and starts to fade away around the first mow. Usually in May. (Northeast US)
