Hello!

I am a first-time poster, but have been following the sub for some time. I really need help figuring out whats wrong with my philodendron.

I have had it for 2 years now and it hasnt really grown past that size. The most leaves its had at once was 5, but that was a while ago. I have tried replanting my philodendron about 2 times. The first, I think the pot was way too big and there was too much soil. The second has now resulted in yellow leaves and a stagnant new leaf in the middle. My suspicion is the soil isn’t draining or drying, but please any help would be appreciated

Philodendron Info:

Watering: I try to water when the soil is dry. I am in a rainy/humid state, so sometimes it is hard to completely dry the soil because theres so much rain and because the heat is so hot it ends up burning the plant.

Repotting: Recently repotted it becase it did not seem to like previous pot.

Soil: Mix of plant soil, pearlite, and sand.

Sunlight: It is in a spot with shade in the morning and sun past 2pm.

This is an Airoid it needs a chunky soil mix aka things like orchid bark/fir bark, perlite, leca, ect. Not what you have it in also it ideally should be in partial or full shade these typically start out as understory plants and hate full sun.

i would lift it up off the ground.. a plant stand or a couple of bricks so that water drains out quicker .. toss a small handful of slow release fertilizer like osmocote + over top of soil..
