Spent the last couple weeks dialing in my grow bag setup and finally got the irrigation installed. Thought I’d share the progress before everything turns into a jungle.
The layout is 15 grow bags total:
• 5 × 25-gallon for the bigger plants (tomatoes mostly)
• 5 × 15-gallon for medium stuff
• 5 × 5-gallon for herbs, lettuce, and smaller plants
Everything is arranged in a straight row with a drip line running right down the middle. Each bag has its own dripper sized to the container so the watering should stay pretty balanced. The whole goal was to make something low maintenance once summer heat kicks in.
Plants going in soon:
• Sungold tomatoes
• Cherokee Purple
• Carbon tomatoes
• Jalapeño and Hungarian wax peppers
• Mini red bell peppers
• Basil, thyme, parsley
• Lettuce
• Nasturtiums and marigolds for some pest control
They get full sun most of the day, so I’m hoping the drip setup keeps things consistent and saves me from dragging hoses around every evening.
Right now it looks clean and organized… give it a month and it’ll probably look like a tomato jungle.
Open to suggestions if anyone sees something I should tweak before planting.
