This is my first time growing seedlings. Overall I think these look pretty good so far. But I’m not sure when to start adding liquid fertilizer. They are planted in seed starting mix. Thanks for any help.

  1. No not necessary…

No need to fertilize….. They get more nutrients when you transplant them into more soil.

If you over fertilize them you can kill them.

Yes. 25-50% diluted balanced fertilizer. Like a 10-10-10 or 20-20-20. Once a week.

Fill your drip tray about ¾ to 1 inch with water and diluted fertilizer. Set seedlings in tray and allow them to wick up the water for 15-30 minutes. Dump any remaining water. You can use that remaining fertilizer water to water another plant.

You should not need any if up potting to a good potting soil .

I’ve been growing tomatoes from seed more than 10 years and I never fertilize. Only did a little bit recently. But I grow in soil, right now I started my seeds from homemade compost.

I burned plants from too much fertilizer when I first started so I’m cautious with its use

Sometimes when I’m bored I’ll pee in a pitcher full of water and give it some diluted nitrogen
