Join me and my mobile phone on an informal tour of the Middlesized Garden in late winter, after two weeks of almost continual rain (which really isn’t as usual for us as everyone thinks!)

The first flowers are up and there’s more green than brown! I hope you enjoy it.

  1. Here in West-Getmany we had snow and frost, but now it is raining and 10 degrees.
Snowdrops and crocus and cyclamen are blooming

  2. I do enjoy your garden tours and I I'm pleased to know I'm not the only one to lose salvias over the winter. To solve this problem I took cuttings of my salvias in the autumn, they took well and I initially kept them in the greenhouse then moved them into the house around November where I've treated them as house plants. They've grown nicely and I should be able to take cuttings in the spring to grow in the greenhouse then transplant back into the borders.

  3. As a hopeless Galanthophile, I’m always intrigued to nose at other people’s snowdrop collections! Delightful!! ☺️

Spring has definitely (tentatively) sprung!! 🪻🌼🌸

  4. Fun video! ❤Ozzie! We have leucojum, iris riticulata, 7+varieties of hellebores (always buy more!), huechera, heather, super early daffodils. The collection has grown to over 40k and bloom January thru April! It’s a beautiful spring in the Willamette Valley, OR zone 8. The birds do love the sheltered feeder better. Great salvia tip.
My sister and I LOVE your videos!

  5. I just watched yourself and Rachel from Douentza garden in Ireland back to back. You are both so real about gardening in this weather, it is comforting to see others squelching arround their gardens and your comments like '..more mess over there…', this is everybody right now. I have learned to plant more ground cover, spreading plants for late Winter / early Spring colour and weed suppressing. The Hellebores are beautiful and there is nothing like Spring bulbs to add some colour. All of us will be very busy in March and April to try to restore some order normally completed in Feb.

  6. I think your garden is lovely. We still have snow in Indiana USA. Everyone has a corner of mess don't worry. I love snowdrops I had some but no sign of them this year. I will try them again. Thanks for the video I think it is very nice.

  7. Beautiful hellebore. I divided one yesterday we're the first time where I needed one more, and I am hopeful…🤞

  8. Thankyou so much for the wintery walk around the garden Alexandra, it was most enjoyable sitting here on my sofa cozy but at 85yrs still doing my garden love your honest bare all technique doesmake such a difference and thankyou very much again keep warm ❤

  9. Do I see a few Spanish bluebells around? Wondered if you try to control these? I've got lots and am trying to decide how radical to go in trying to get rid of/control them
